That is why we work so hard to make care accessible to families across the socioeconomic spectrum. On average, tuition income represents 65% of our program operating income. Grant support and fundraising make up the remaining 35% of the budget. We are incredibly thankful for the wide variety of organizations and individuals that generously supported Corning Children’s Center during 2015-2016: RESOURCES Corning Incorporated continues to support our mission through a generous operating grant and by underwriting the costs associated with our building. We are deeply grateful for their long-standing assistance. The 13th annual Blue Moon Ball gala and auction – our largest fundraising endeavor – was held January 16, 2016 at the Corning Museum of Glass. The event has become the area’s premier social event as more than 350 guests from the greater Corning-Elmira area gather to bid on enticing auction packages from our community partners. Outside of Blue Moon Ball, 90 donors contributing at levels from $2-$5,000 brought us to a total of $215,000 raised during the 2015-16 fiscal year. 100% of our Board of Directors and Leadership Team members made gifts this year. Moving forward, diversifying our development income streams is a priority for Corning Children’s Center. We are committed to balancing our event and other giving strategies to be even in the next five years.
